HAZARDS OUT!
A multi-stakeholder partnership for the separate collection of household hazardous waste
HOW DO WE PLAN TO KEEP HAZARDS OUT?
A series of workshops on the separate collection of household hazardous waste to exchange best practices and boost collaboration on HHW management.
A European network of professional operators involved with hazardous household waste to support collaboration and peer learning.
Problem Overview
Hazardous waste poses a greater risk to the environment and human health and therefore requires a stricter control regime, separate collection and special treatment. Since 1st of January 2025, member states are obliged to establish separate collection for hazardous waste generated by households to avoid contamination that could lower recycling quality and ensure environmentally sound waste management.
