WORKSHOP 2: Household Hazardous Waste | Collection Methods
15 May 2025 | 11:00 CET
Online Teams Event

- EVENT DESCRIPTION
The separate collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) is mandatory in the EU since January 1st 2025 and Member States and European municipalities are responsible for setting up their HHW management systems.
To support the local authorities, industry and other stakeholders in implementing the sorting obligations, FEAD, in partnership with ACR+ and Hazardous Waste Europe, have launched the Hazards Out project. The team is organising a series of workshops to exchange best practices and boost collaboration on HHW. A legislation overview and different perspectives of household hazardous waste were provided during Workshop 1 What is going to change?
Now we have the pleasure of inviting you to the next episode focused on Collection Methods, which will examine practical strategies and examples of effective HHW collection systems across Europe. During the event you will have the opportunity to:
- Hear case studies from local authorities
- Learn about national rules and guidelines
- Take part in an open discussion and Q&A on improving HHW collection methods.
Whether you’re a municipality looking to strengthen your waste management approach, or an industry operator seeking insights into EU best practices, this workshop offers valuable knowledge-exchange and an opportunity to become a part of a collaborative community of household hazardous waste professionals.
